Re: Did you know biotin was patented for stroke, too?

1 point or even 0.5 depending where you are on the EDSS scale is better than nothing. The question is will there be further improvement over time. All the participants were evaluated at 9 months and 12 months. Improvement was defined as either a decline in the Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS)...

Re: Optic Neuritis - how long to recover?

Had an attack at the start of my MS back in 1986. Gradually got better over a couple of weeks with the help of
prednisone....

Hasn't bothered me since despite many other symptoms over the years including trigeminal neuralgia which was horrible...

Re: New research- UV rays, nitric oxide and MS symptom relie

Living on the west coast of Canada doesn't provide a whole lot of sunshine either. I've been taking a supplement called L'Arginine which
also produces nitric oxide.

The most realistic explanation I've seen on the root causes of MS, and other factors that influence its progression.

Re: Niacin B3

I'm curious Ursula when you say you don't have flushes anymore is that because it has become well tolerated?
Also when you say you have no symptoms that's amazing. How long had you been taking it before that happened?
Has your level of disability changed at all?

Re: Niacin B3

So what about the homocysteine argument forwarded by Annesse at the beginning of this thread.
I did read somewhere that taking other B supplements reduces homocysteine levels?

Also N-Acetyl-Cysteine has been shown to great reduce homocysteine levels.

Re: Niacin B3

From what I have read b6 and b12 metabolize homocystine along with folic acid. Not prepared to give up my 'high' albeit brief but you got to ask yourself why is that. Again it goes along way to support the cardio vascular nature of the disease. Someday soon someone's going to wake up and the lights ...

Re: Niacin B3

Hmm interesting....B6 and B12 deficiency's contribute to elevated homocysteine. TMG or (anhydrous betaine) apparantly lowers homocysteine levels. Seems futile to take one to counteract the other to try and salvage some of it benefits. Maybe at the end of the day it comes down to good diet. Still doe...

Niacin B3

I've been taking Niacin (flush) not to be confused with (No Flush) 500mg/day for about a month now and occasionally especially when I get a good flush I experience an increase in strength and feeling like I could run a marathon. Unfortunately it doesn't stay and this feeling eventually dwindles afte...
