Hi My sister has a similar issue as the one mentioned. She has symptoms similar to MS such as numbness and weakness of limbs, paresthesia, optical neuritis but the MRI does not show lesssions and the oligoclonalbands are coming negative in the blood tests. The doctors suspect her of antiphospolilidi...

Re: Weird kind of Numbness

Hi there,

I had the exactly same sensation on my legs 3 weeks ago. My neuro said it is called paresthesia and he wasn't sure if it was due to an attack or not. I am scheduled for an MRI to figure that out.

Do you have this sensation all the time or it comes and goes?

HI Raven,

What was the protocol you followed with Campath?

Do you know in general which are the results of the patients? I've been reading on the internet that the efficiency is around 48%. Which is your view over it?

Re: Betaferone in Dubai

Hi there,

You can go any neurologist in Dubai and the hospital will arrange the betaferon for you.

I prefer 3 hospitals in UAE: neurospinal, city hospital and welcare hospital.

Just book an appointment with a neurologist and ask for betaferon prescription.

Re: Avonex side efects two times in the week

Hi,

I had the same problem on Avonex. She should discuss with her neurologist first and do a 6 months follow up MRI to see if Avonex is working or not. The side effects will reduce in time, for me it took about 5 months. I never felt really good on Avonex so eventually I changed to another CRAB.

Re: rebif & hair loss

I had the same problems on Avonex and Betaferon. However, the hair fall reduces after about 4-6 months. My doctor changed my multivitamin to one that has iron too and prescribed me an anti hair fall product from the market, from pharmacies (Vichy). It did help.

Avonex, Betaferon or Rebif

Hi Marcia,

I live in Dubai since 2007 and the medical services are very good and so are the doctors. The company will provide you an insurance that will fully cover your medication. Getting Rebif in UAE is not a problem at all.

Good luck

Strange symptoms

HI Dr. Diana, I had severe hair loss last year on Avonex to the point that I almost got bold. Then the hair growth started. This year, on Betaferon, I am again having bad hair loss. So I am not sure if it is the interferons or the MS. Another symptom that bothers me a lot is that if I talk on the ph...

Avonex efficiency

So my one year of Avonex finished and went for MRI. First, did the brain MRI that showed no new lessions: what a happiness. Then, did the cervical MRI and surprise: 3 new lessions. One 8mm, one 8.5mm and 1.2cm. I am so so scared...what does this mean? Is Avonex not working properly for me? So I aske...
