Good news story (18 months on Tec)

Hi all, just thought i would post a good news story to motivate those who may be struggling with Tec. When I started it i was hit really hard with the side effects - stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, intense flushing, itching, even hives. This lasted about 3 months for me but i was determined not to q...

Re: Just Diagnosed, Not sure what to do about my work

I am a 36 yr old female and I am a director at the firm I work for. I also have 2 small children (1 and 4) so my life is hectic! You have no reason to believe that MS will be a big barrier to you living your life so don't let it get in your way. You only mention a single episode, did anyone talk to ...

Re: Traveling with coaxone?

I have been on numerous flights, many international with copaxone. I am very strict though that is not go through the xray. All but once i have had no trouble at all and they have just done a hand check. I also carry the gel cool pack with it and the auoinject in the travel case. I take the syringes...

Re: Cows milk and statistical Correlation with MS

I found my Jelinek book. There is much less in it than i thought but a few references, i will type them out later. But I saw this today and had to post it - pretty funny (and helps anyone wondering what we were 'talking' about regarding correlation v causation). http://www.cbc.ca/strombo/Images/etc_...

i have the book around here somewhere, i will dig it out and take a look. if you have not read it i found it an interesting read as it has his personal story in it as well as the usual. worth a library loan at least IMO.

Re: Cows milk ans statistical Correlation with MS

I am afraid i don't have any references for you, and regarding the one you have here, unfortunately correlation studies are not always sufficient to identify causation. Just because things are correlated does not mean there is any causation at all. So for this particular study i would not draw any c...

Re: Experiences with Copaxone

Hi MarkLavalle, I just have a simple grid drawn up for each site (i just use a notebook) and i label which part of grid is, for example, top of arm, elbow, inwards, outwards etc. so i can orientate the grid. When i mark off a sector on the grid i also number it so i know when i look next week which ...

Re: Experiences with Copaxone

i have been taking copaxone for 13 months, so far so good. the first months are the worst - it really stings/burns but it gets better. i inject at bed time and sleep it off. i am also really diligent about rotating within and between injection sites -drew myself a chart to make sure i am always at l...

Re: Why did you choose your meds...this is confusing.

I take copaxone, have for about 13 months. the side effects are minimal - post injection site reactions (i.e. soreness but i take it at bed time and sleep it off) , possible lipo but they claim good injection practice adn rotation of sites minimises teh likelihood of this (i don't have it yet). the ...

Re: Optic Neuritis?

i had ON in one eye. it took 6 months to regain my sight but i did and it happened pretty quickly. i didn't have steroids, and was told that they don't change the outcome, just the duration. Hang in there and get as much rest as you can, it really helps in overcoming a relapse.

Something my GP told me - he does not really know copaxone especially but does know about lipoatrophy as it is not something specific to copaxone (diabetics get it too) he said the keeping as shallow as possible (while being deep enough it does not flow out) will help preserve the underlying fat as ...

Hi, I don't have anything to tell you, just posting to say Hi and I am in the same position as you - have my autoinject and other stuff and just waiting for the meds and then the 'training' session. I too am nervous. I sometimes wonder if i really need meds and worry about what they will do to me as...

It was good to see both of these posts. i too am recently diagnosed with CIS but have continuing symptoms and lots of lesions so i was encouraged to choose a medication. I have chosen Copaxone and although i am worried about the lipoatrophy, if there is a chance it will increase my chances of stayin...
