Re: Progressive MS treatment phase III study update
Another principle I am going to apply in my study size n=1 is to assume that foods containing biotin also contain elements that assist the body in the uptake of biotin. As practical I will eat a few peanuts or a little Swiss chard with my hourly biotin 10 mg biotin dose. I'm Going to keep a log. I'm...

Re: Progressive MS treatment phase III study update
The pharma grade pure biotin I found was only about $166 per kg. that's 1000000 mg or about 333 days at 300 mg per day. But it would be hard to control dosing. Since the half life of biotin is about 2 hours and any excess gets pissed out, I want to divide my daily dosage evenly throughout the day. I...

Re: Husband is not supportive whatsoever
Marriages have challenges (with or without MS). You need to talk with each other. During the first few years after my diagnosis my wife seemed very unsupportive. She believes in "mind over matter" and felt that talking about it or thinking about MS would give me excuses for laziness, encou...

Re: Nucca and when it goes bad
Just looked up Chilliwack BC. It is less than 3 hours from Dr Yardley's practice in Kent, WA. I'll ask him if he knows of any reputable NUCCA practitioners in BC.

Re: how does one judge treatment failure?
This is a tough question -we don't know what is and isn't helping and how much. I encourage you to add swank diet back to your regimen (in addition to copaxone). CRAB drugs show reduction in relapse rates but none of them come close to approaching Swank diets 34 year impact on disease progression. W...

Re: Copaxone and high blood pressure
I took copaxone from 2003 - 2013 and again since the beginning of this year. I have seen my bp drop from 150 / 90 to 120 / 70 since going on the Swank diet. I have never seen a correlation between copaxone and bp.

Re: Have you switched to Tecfidera? Are you glad you did?
I was on Tecfidera for 17 months. I did well on it ms wise and had no perceptible side effects, however total lymphocytes were low and continuing to fall. As of dec 28 I am on no meds. Will go back on copaxone once lymphocytes rebound.

Lasic eye correction
I've always wanted to get my vision surgically corrected. At the consultation the surgeon said MS precludes me from lasic because I may move during surgery.
Can't they strap me in place? Anyone with MS have lasic done for near sightedness?

Re: Erectile Dysfunction?
The e.d medicines are really good. I've done the healthy eating and nutritional supplements but nothing has been as sure as Levitra or Viagra. If cost gets to be an issue I've heard there are countries where Viagra is generic (it has been on the market more than 15 years). I've heard they ship inter...

Re: I am wondering how much MS will limit my future
Don't lose heart. I was diagnosed in grad school in 2003 and it hasn't interfered with my career as an engineer. Read up on the research of dr Roy swank and then get on his diet. The MS drugs reduce relapses but aren't proven to reduce disease progression. The swank diet showed the ability to preven...

Re: So, what is the most affordable treatment for MS?
Low dose naltrexone also has been helpful for many with MS and it's generic. You have to get it from a formulary pharmacy. About $40 a month when I tried it.
