Trigeminal Neuralgia
Thanks for setting up this forum NHE. I know TN is not MS. But I hope this space will help those of us who may come here to ask WTF is going on?! When I was diagnosed with TN (10 years after my MS diagnosis), I was shocked (excuse the pun). Mostly I was very upset that diagnosing TN wasn't simple. L...

Re: Oxygen treatment
Ok thanks ElliotB
I think it must help some people- MS centres in the UK offer it as a type of therapy. I did check it out briefly but saw that the possible downsides included damage to the middle ear and eyesight issues. I am sure the centres that offer it must have a good risk-assessment.

Re: Dantrium
Apologies Scott1 I thought I had replied - in fact been looking to see if I mis-posted Thanks, the heat does ease up the pain - I have noticed that when I have a bath or shower. In fact it also calms the TN. Just asking but wonder whether we could have a TN section? It is not common in the non MS wo...

Re: Dantrium
Tight and uncomfortable. Like I've strained it. When I tripped I fell forward and my left wrist over flexed in stopping my fall.... my head was facing to the right to avoid my face hitting the ground. The neuralgia has always been on that left side, so the wrist sprain and all along the arm, shoulde...

Re: Dantrium
Ah that's good to hear! Not doing so well here - tripped up in early Feb and ended up with a wrist sprain which has reactivated the neuralgia. It's been pretty painful. Tried all my usual tricks, no luck so have been taking amitriptyline hoping it'll numb the pain. I am also having physio which help...

Re: Hormone Replacement
You know, I am feeling the same too JL....why and how....??? Had the same thing in 2021. I have heard how it can be up and down with the thyroid meds. I hope it settles and you feel better soon. And taking iron every day sounds very sensible! Yes, I am taking it with OJ but may have to swap that to ...

Re: Hormone Replacement
Oh gosh, good luck.
My blood test results also showed v low serum ferritin - so that explains the exhaustion. Back on the ferrous fumarate and will ask docs about thyroid readings...and having to review my diet

Re: Hormone Replacement
Thanks JL. It is borderline I agree. It isn't just the readings, more so my symptoms. Good luck with the Es. I hope it comes together for you. Dr Andrew Huberman (who does some great podcasts) spoke about non-sleep deep rest & yoga nidra. He then produced a 10 minute video (not a yoga nidra one)...

Re: Hormone Replacement
Ok well that's interesting about the armour thyroid meds - it's not available in the UK. We only have the option of the synthetic version. My results are within range but I am so whacked and my TSH is 3.83 (range .3-4.2) and T4 13.4 (range 12-22) but it's the move for both towards the end of the ran...

Re: Hormone Replacement
Hi JL So here I am having picked up that earlier in this thread you mentioned being on a thyroid hormone. Sorry I didn't see that before :( I did a search and found this thread again because some blood tests done this week came back ok except my cholesterol was above 5. But on looking closer I see m...

Prof Gavin Giovannoni's website
I don't know if any of you ever follow his website/blogs. It used to be Barts MS (I think) but I found this recently.
There is a lot of info here - some not so easy to process but makes sense.

Re: Antidepressants
Thanks JL
Glad your mum is feeling better. I always wear masks on public transport but not in a public swimming pool
It was a positive test result - did a lateral flow test but it all made sense. It's the first time I caught covid so am hoping it's a mild one at this end of the pandemic.
