Minocycline and Copaxone combined?

Post by Wonderfulworld »

Just curious...are any of you on a combo of minocycline and copaxone?

If so, did your neurologist or your GP prescribe the minocycline?

How are you faring on it?

Good Morning! or rather Wonderful Morning!!!

This isn't direct, but Kim was on ABX and Copaxone at the same time for several months, maybe a year after starting ABX. But, she has two neuro's. It's sorta odd, but that's what Kim has. I spent a lot of time searching for some sort of drug interaction and found nothing. Much of this is detailed in my milkshake thread.

Bottom-line was that the ABX has worked and the Copaxone didn't seem to do much. If you want to do Mino, you should know that it's not really remotely close to doing the ABX protocol. Ken

Thanks for that Ken, I suppose that was what I was curious about - which thing worked for people, the ABX or the Copaxone.

In my case I know the Copaxone is working, but not without side effects, but I am ABX-curious - I will persue it when C stops working so well.

I am doing the abx regime and was considering starting copaxone whilst going through a bad relapse. I decided to just go with the abx and then to add LDN...so far so good.... If this combo stopped working for me copaxone would be my next choice along with antivirals.

It's like night and day. I know my abx thread is longer than anyone wants to read, but you would get the definite sense of how Kim has experienced ABX differently than Copaxone.

Before ABX, Kim and I would wonder in the back of our minds, "When will the next disabling thing happen?"

Now we wonder, "When will the next improvement occur?"

For what it is worth- I am doing the complete antibiotic protocol as prescribed to me by the doc at Vanderbilt as well as continuing with Copaxone. The doc at Vanderbilt encouraged me to continue the Copaxone as I was not experiencing problems with it. And by the way, I started out with minocyline along with the Copaxone. The results of adding the minocycline is what started me down the antibiotic protocol pathway. I have been doing it for about 18 months. I am very glad I started with the antibiotics.
