Has anyone who's had this MS thing for awhile had any improvements while on the high doses of Biotin? Have been taking Biotin for a year and haven't seen one thing improve. Thought at least the nails on my right hand would. Need to order more Biotin if I'm going to stay on it.
Thanks!
Improvements??
Re: Improvements??
Yes, I have seen a number of small improvements (so has my physio) in less than 9 months.
Starting from EDSS of 6.5, I did not expect a major improvement.
However if it does not work for you, then it probably won't. Most medication is like that (boo, hiss).
Still, if you are SPMS, what else is there to try except some of the off-the-wall treatments.

Re: Improvements??
Hi Dr Geoff,
Have you experienced any constipation issues or other side effects with biotin?

Hi Phil
No constipation issues, but maybe (just maybe) Biotin has been responsible for increased spasticity in my legs.
This was no problem until after 6 months of Biotin - then both legs started going into hyperextension and relaxing again after 15-20 seconds.
I believe that this has been reported elsewhere.

Re: Improvements??
Hi,
After 2 years under biotin (1 year with Pure Bulk + 1 year with Qizenday) :
well, it's like "roller coaster".
Sometimes I feel really good and I even tend to forget about MS; sometimes I realize MS is still here...
From what I understood about biotin, it doesn't stop ms. It helps myelination (which is good)
However, I have to admit that globally, I feel much better.
take care

Re: Improvements??
Biotin is just Vit B7?
For remyelination, my research has suggested:
- Vit K2 (high dose)
- Cogentin (Parkinson's anti tremor drug)
- Thyroid T3 hormone (Liothyronine)
Beware liothyronine (thyroid T3) side effects tho, Cogentin may be a preferable choice, plus reduces tremors as a bonus.
